In order to avoid mold or mildew make certain your large appliances are clean and dry prior to the moving day. Try getting rid of any grease left on your stove to make sure it doesn't stain more items during the move.

Dishwasher

After drying completely, detach and drain hoses and leave the door widely open for a day or two then wrap the hoses with large towels and close inside the dishwasher.

Washing Machine

Follow the above dishwasher instructions with these add-ons:

Wrap with towel or unused thick cloth and close inside washing machine all the hoses' metal connectors.
Secure the washing machines drum following the manufacturer's manual to avoid damage by swaying and tilting. Note: If you don't have the manual you can purchase a washer kit with a manual that provides instructions on how to secure the drum by tightening down the drum using screws.
If in doubt, or prefer to use a professional service, one can be arranged for you by your moving company, remember to enquire during the estimate.
If a third party professional had assisted you during the loading ,ask for their help after un-packing.

Clothes Dryer

After Machine is disconnected any electric power begin cleaning the machine:

If dryer is working on gas, DO NOT forget to cap the gas line to avoid gas leaking. Your movers are not qualified to perform this service and so unless you are are certain you know how to handle it your self a third party professional service. Clean the lint screen.
Leave the door open for 24 hours prior to moving day to clear all moist.

Stove Top/Range/Oven

Clean thoroughly with special care to any grease spots that might be on the outer side of the stove.

Pack all screws and removable parts in a can or small box and tape it to the appliance or if not possible or you feel insecure pack the can/box in another box you'll remember.
Clean thoroughly.

Gas range needs to be disconnected before your moving day by a certified technician and gas line should be properly secured. Electric range needs no special instructions besides being packed carefully to prevent any damage during the relocation. Book a head a gas installer to check your gas supply and connect the gas line at your new residence.

Refrigerator

After going through our list of non-transportable items dispose of all perishables and prepare to eat take away at the last 48 hours prior to the moving day.

Unplug the power cord and wash all removable parts and dry thoroughly.
If your refrigerator has a water dispenser or ice maker turn off the water line, detach water line and dry thoroughly both line and water reservoir.
For the last 36 hours prior to move leave the refrigerator unplugged from its power source.
Detach all interior parts of refrigerator and freezer, clean & dry thoroughly.
Leave refrigerator door slightly open to prevent moisture.
All loose parts (screws, pins, shelves and such) should be packed in a secured box and packed well with packing materials such as bubble wrap and packing paper.
Vacuum the compressor clean of dust in older models your compressor may be bolted down.
Clean evaporator pan and let it dry before packing,
If not certain about reattaching your water dispenser or ice make contact a professional third party to assist you in the process.

Microwave Oven

Remove glass plate from microwave and wrap securely using bubble wrap and pack in a dish box you'll remember – you can make a mark on the box.

If you still possess the original box it is best using it for a secure move, if not use a book (small) or medium size box depending on the microwave and pack carefully with packing paper or newsprint. Of course in most move types you will be able to ask the movers to wrap, pad and pack it for you on the moving day.
